Silicone and D-limonene Replacement
Ultra-Cold Heat Transfer Fluid Runs Colder, Avoids Freeze-Ups
New
Paratherm CR™ (Patent Pending) heat transfer fluid
provides predictable, repeatable performance in ultra-cold processes. 100% synthetic, its consistent properties provide improved productivity while eliminating quality-robbing runaway coil freeze-ups.
The fluid's low 10-cP viscosity @ -88°C (20-cP @ -96°C) enables significant efficiency gains at lower temperatures. Replacing d-limonene heat transfer fluid in a fine-chemical manufacturing application, the CR fluid reduced process batch time over 50% by allowing the jacket to operate below
-90°C.
Lower temperature capability coupled with increased heat transfer will bring improved performance in existing equipment, simply by changing the heat transfer fluid.
And unlike silicone-based fluids, the CR fluid raises no containment or clean-up issues.
These characteristics, combined with the CR fluid's extremely low freeze point (<-120°C) have proven to substantially improve quality and yield also over d-limonene blends and silicone fluids.
Typical applications for the CR heat transfer fluid include: fine chemical processes, pharmaceutical active ingredient production, secondary coolant systems, continuous process applications, lyophilizers and environmental test chambers.
