ENVIRO-FRIENDLY
Non-aqueous chiller fluid from
Paratherm Corporation.
At low-range temperatures, where glycols have viscosities too
high to cool adequately, processors are substituting Paratherm LR™
heat transfer fluid and improving cooling performance dramatically.
The LR Fluid is rated for service from –40ºF to +400ºF (-40ºC
to 204ºC).
Applications for this crystal clear fluid range from specialty
chemicals batch processing and pharmaceuticals to a variety of other
specialty heating and cooling requirements. The LR can also
be used as a substitute fluid in secondary coolant (“brine”) systems,
and in applications where water contamination can pose significant
safety or operational issues.
The LR fluid has a viscosity of under 12 cP at -40ºF, and
a flash point greater than 140ºF; this flash point is within the
combustible rather than flammable range as defined by DOT and OSHA
regulations.
Users will find the LR Fluid plant-friendly, environmentally
safe and problem-free. There are no chlorinated hydrocarbons,
aromatics, heavy metals, compounds of sulfur and nitrogen or other
SARA-reportable substances present in the LR Fluid. For disposal
users can combine it with other spent lubricating oils and send
it to the recycler. NSF registered the Paratherm LR fluid as food-grade in February of 2004.
Should technical assistance be needed, it is available from Paratherm
engineers by phone at any time from concept, through planning and
design, to construction, start up and operation.
